Gameplay:
- Dealing: Each player receives 13 cards dealt clockwise.
- Calling: Players bid (call) the number of tricks they believe they can win, starting from the dealer and moving clockwise. The call can be any number between 1 and 8.
- Playing the Trick: The highest bidder leads the first trick. Subsequent players must follow suit if possible, otherwise they can play any card. The highest card of the leading suit, or the highest trump card played, wins the trick. The winner of the trick leads the next one.
- Scoring: At the end of the round, players score points based on their calls:
- Successful Call: If a player wins the number of tricks they called, they get points equal to their call.
- Unsuccessful Call: If a player fails to win their called number of tricks, they get negative points equal to the difference between their call and the actual number of tricks won.
- Rounds and Winning: The game typically consists of five rounds. The player with the highest cumulative score after all rounds wins the game.
