Microsoft Edge 103.0.1264.49 Chromium is the browser that replaced Internet Explorer in Windows and combines advanced technology in navigation and usability
Microsoft Edge for PC Windows is the browser that has replaced the veteran Internet Explorer in Windows for a more comfortable, secure, and up-to-date browsing experience.
New Chromium-based browsing experience
The first thing that stands out from its predecessor is the user interface, which has opted for a minimalist design with menus reduced to a minimum to improve its usability. But there have also been changes at the internal levels, as an architecture for an optimized navigation experience has been developed for it, prioritizing aspects such as speed or safety. In fact, it is based on the Chromium open source project.
- These are the main features that you will find in Microsoft Edge Chromium:
- Although it is optimized for Windows 10, you can use it in versions 7, 8 and 8.1 of the operating system.
- Automatically sync passwords, settings, and favorites with PC, macOS, Android, and iOS versions
- Edge offers more extensive features to respect user privacy than competitors like Chrome when browsing the web.
- Search powered by Bing.
- Ability to customize the environment.
- Customizable with extensions, making it compatible with Google Chrome extensions.
Navigating the Web with Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge is a fast and secure web browser built into Windows 10 and 11. Here’s a guide to get you started with exploring the web using Edge:
Getting Around:
- Finding Edge: It’s usually pinned to your taskbar or found in the Start menu.
- The Address Bar: This bar (top of the window) is where you type web addresses (URLs) or search terms. Hit Enter to go!
- Tabs: Open multiple webpages at once using tabs. Click the “+” button next to your open tabs to open a new one. You can also use keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+T (Windows) or Command+T (Mac).
- Navigation Buttons: Go back and forth between webpages using the back and forward arrows. The refresh button reloads the current page.
- Bookmarks: Save your favorite websites for easy access later. Click the star icon next to the address bar to bookmark a page. You can find your bookmarks by clicking the three dots menu (…) and selecting “Favorites.”
Searching the Web:
- You can use the address bar to search the web directly. Just type in your search term and press Enter. Edge uses Bing by default, but you can change the search engine in the settings.
- The Sidebar: Click the three dots menu (…) to access the sidebar. Here you’ll find features like Collections (to group related tabs), InPrivate browsing (for private browsing sessions), and more.
Making it Yours:
Settings: Click the three dots menu (…) and select “Settings” to personalize your Edge experience. Here you can change the default search engine, manage privacy settings, and install extensions for added functionality.
